PRISMA Engineering S.r.l. is in Milan, Italy. We develop software, firmware and we supply professional consulting for embedded systems, Personal Computers (PC) and Workstations in GSM, GPRS, Avionics and Automation fields. We work with QNX, DSP, DOS, Windows, Unix operating system and we also develop device drivers for serial communication protocols. The integrated solution for the equipment test in GSM and other telecommunications fields

The Line Server Unit Plus (LSU+) belongs to the last generation of test equipment and is intended to support both development teams and system test in GSM or other  telecommunications areas. It is the product of our eight years long experience in this field. 

The LSU+ allows to simulate, through a PCM interface, several Network Element functions of GSM, GPRS, UMTS, ATM and PSTN networks to test real equipments.

The LSU+ connects to Telecom equipments by means of PCM E1/T1 interfaces (up to 16).
The system is provided with a pool of 256 SCCs (Serial Communication Controller) with separately configurable rate (8-2048Kb/s). 
There are four analog connections for telephone handsets complete with CODECs (D-phone). 
A configurable switch matrix allows to set up connections between the PCM I/O lines timeslots, the SCC channels, and the D-phones.

The LSU+ can monitor signalling channels, simulate protocol stacks, generate network traffic and add asynchronous events representing either failures or abnormal conditions, both for physical interfaces and protocols.
The LSU+ supports a growing number of protocol stacks (LAPD,SS7,RLC/MAC,LLC,SNDCP,FRAME RELAY, NETWORK SERVICES,BSSGP,IP) and it can be used to test almost all the interfaces between GSM network elements (Abis, A, Gb, Lb, Gi, etc.).

The LSU+ supports the UDG (User Data Generator), thanks to a proprietary protocol it can perform functional and qualitative test of "in-band" data connections in the GPRS system.
The system offers other useful test functions like the HDLC frame drop-insert, the Satellite Delay, the Trau Frame Loop.
The LSU+ has been designed to operate in different modes, thanks to add in software modules, in order to satisfy the test requirements for different project development stages (white box, integration, load & stress) and for different application fields.

The Line Server Unit Plus is a very versatile equipment that can solve several different test problems, new modules are in constant development and custom modules can be written in a short time.
